Privacy policy

This page explains what data this site handles and what it does not.

What we collect

The pages here are plain files served from a content delivery network. We do not run analytics that profile you across sites, and we do not embed social media trackers or advertising pixels.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs for every request, which include your IP address, the page requested, a timestamp and your browser's user agent string. These logs exist to keep the service running and to defend against attacks. They are not used to build a profile of you.

If you email us, we process the address you write from and whatever you put in the message, for as long as it takes to deal with the matter.

Legal basis

Server logs and abuse prevention rest on legitimate interest: running a site securely is not possible without them. Email correspondence rests on legitimate interest in answering the person who wrote to us. If we ever add anything that needs consent, such as analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask first and you will be able to say no without losing access to the content.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Details are on the cookie policy page.

When you click through to an operator

Links to operators are affiliate links. Following one takes you to a third party that has its own privacy policy, its own cookies and its own tracking. We have no control over what they collect and no access to it. Read their policy before you register.

Retention

Server logs are kept for a short period by the hosting provider and then deleted or aggregated. Email is kept only as long as needed for the conversation and any follow up.

Your rights

Where the GDPR applies you can request access to your data, correction of it, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, write to us via the contact page. We may need to confirm who you are before acting, so that we do not hand your data to somebody else.

Changes

If this policy changes we update it here. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
